I went into this book without really knowing what to expect from it. It’s a book that I received as a present and I have to say that even though I had it for some time now, I had no idea what it was about. I just picked it up one day and started to read it and after 30 pages I was all in.

In the beginning, I thought Eleanor was going to be that cliché “odd” character that doesn’t fit in society, the typical character that doesn’t understand social cues and etc. However, Gail Honeyman made this character so much more than that. She has depth, mysterious background and so much more to her that her “antisocial” ways.

The two things that made me fall in love with this book were the character development and the mystery. I couldn’t stop reading because I was so curious to learn more about Eleanor’s past and wanted to see how she was going to deal with all the changes happening in her life.

The ending was amazing and when I closed the book, I just wanted to hug her.

Eleanor is such a well-written character that I found myself not only empathizing with her but feeling proud for her and everything she accomplished. This is one character that will stay forever in my heart.

This book is so complete. It is heart-warming and heart-breaking, funny, and serious.

I highly recommend this book, especially if you are looking for an interesting, touching, captivating book that will make you not want to stop reading.
