Is Art Worth Dying For?
Review of Five Little Pigs by Agatha Christie
What It’s About
Agatha Christie’s ingenious murder mystery, now presented as a sumptuous special edition hardback.
Beautiful Caroline Crale was convicted of poisoning her husband, yet there were five other suspects: Philip Blake (the stockbroker) who went to market; Meredith Blake (the amateur herbalist) who stayed at home; Elsa Greer (the three-time divorcee) who had roast beef; Cecilia Williams (the devoted governess) who had none; and Angela Warren (the disfigured sister) who cried ‘wee wee wee’ all the way home.
It is sixteen years later, but Hercule Poirot just can’t get that nursery rhyme out of his mind…
What I Liked About This Book
I read this book for the first time about 10 years ago.
You know a book is good when you find it again in a bookshop 10 years after you read it and you can’t help but pick it up.
I don’t usually reread books.
My tbr list is already big enough without adding books I’ve already read and loved.
However, when I do reread something I once loved, I find it interesting to see how it ages and how much of it stayed with me.
