Are You Addicted To Being Sad?
It’s easier to stay sad than to make yourself happy
Being sad is addictive.
Being sad is addictive because it’s easy to stay sad. Way easier than to stay happy. Happiness is fleeting and that’s why it is so precious to us. We know that we can’t stay happy all the time so we do all we can to feel happy as much as we can.
However, all emotions need to be felt for us to be mentally healthy human beings. Stopping yourself from feeling sad is not helping you be happy, it’s actually making you miserable.
But what happens when you get comfortable in your sadness?
When you give your sadness the time it needs for you to process whatever you’re going through, it’s time to move on. You move on with your life and keep listening to your body and what it says about how it’s feeling.
But if you let yourself wallow on the sadness, you lose the strength and will power to get out. You keep going down and the longer you do that, the harder it will be to pull yourself out.
Nowadays we are all constantly in the move and always going after the next thing. It feels like we don't have time to be sad. So when we do, we just stay there. It’s less work than to make yourself happy. It’s easier to just stay the way you are. And what…
