If you keep your tbr list short you’ll actually be able to complete it

If you’re a Goodreads user, you’ve probably already decided on how many books you’re reading this year for the Goodreads challenge.

Every year, I choose a very specific number of books that I want to read. I do the math. I calculate how many books do I have to read every week in order to complete the challenge. And how many hours do I have to spend every day to read that amount of books.

And every year I struggle to complete the challenge. Even when I make it small, like in the past two years.

That’s why this year I decided to focus on reading as much as possible every day and keep updating my Goodreads challenge every time I read a new book.

This way, I don’t feel the pressure to read a specific amount of books. I’m just reading what I want to read and updating that number as I go.

Because if I put that kind of pressure on myself to read X amount of books a week, I’ll feel guilty if I don’t. And that will take all the fun out of reading.
